The A. Alberto Lugo Foundation was created to make architecture accessible to those who need it most. Built on the belief that good design should not be a privilege, the Foundation partners with non-profits, community organizations, and local governments to deliver low-cost or pro bono architectural services across Newark, NJ, and throughout New York and New Jersey.
The Foundation focuses on organizations and communities that often lack the resources to secure professional design services. This includes:
Community centers and youth organizations
Affordable housing initiatives
Non-profits serving underserved families and seniors
Local schools and after-school programs
Neighborhood revitalization projects in urban and suburban areas
By working directly with community leaders, the Foundation ensures each project addresses real needs while maintaining high design and safety standards.
Since its inception, the A. Alberto Lugo Foundation has raised over $2.5 million through private donations, grants, and corporate sponsorships. These funds have supported more than 40 projects across New York and New Jersey, providing communities with facilities they otherwise could not afford.
